About Me
Hello and a warm welcome to Jo Couch Illustration!
I'm Jo, an illustrator and independent publisher of greeting cards, prints, stationery, and gifts.
My creative journey began with drawing and doodling in my spare time and after being made redundant, I decided to fully pursue my passion and here we are!
Looking back, I've always had a love for anything I could create, make or do, from building things in the garden with my dad as a little girl, to loving woodwork and art in school. I was also fortunate to study ballet from a young age through to my teens, which still remains a big love of mine.
I'm a full-time daydreamer and self-confessed animal lover who will try to rescue anything that lands my way. I live with woodland behind me which is home to many hedgehogs, foxes, mice, muntjac and birds but have yet to see a bear hop over the fence, although I do live in hope!
As is evident, my joy lies in animals and nature, which inspire me greatly to bring characters and their worlds to life through my work and storytelling. My biggest hope is that through my work I pass my joy on to you as well.
Here you can see me in Stratford upon Avon, fully immersed and at home feeding the birds.
You will find me drawing, creating, printing, preparing and packing your orders by hand all from my home studio in North Lincolnshire.
I have part-time help in the form of my cat, Coco, although she does have a tendency to sleep on the job!
You will often see me out and about at events throughout the region come rain or shine. You can also find my paper goods and gift range in shops and online.
Reducing the impact on our environment is important, therefore all of my paper products are printed using suppliers based in the UK who use materials which are sustainably sourced, FSC certified and made from recycled materials. You can find more specific details under each product item in the shop.
I’m extremely proud to have recently won the Small Business Sunday award founded by Theo Paphitis and belong to one of the leading small business networks in the UK. You can read more about this on the home page.
